Seed Planting and Bed Prepping
A beautiful morning on the Wymondley Community Garden at April’s Gardening Club. A small group spent a relaxed couple of hours prepping the garden vegetable beds and planting some seeds. Some new faces joined us and one of our littlest gardeners did a fabulous job.
The group spent time digging over the beds and straightening them in line with the greenhouse. We didn’t notice how squiffy they were until we put the gravel board borders! The soil was quite hard thanks to the dry weather but with a bit of muscle we rid them of weeds.
We also managed to get some guttering fitted to our shed which will run into a water butt. Catching rain water like this will help with keeping the garden watered while we don’t have a water supply.
Our gardening club sessions are held from 9am-12pm on the third Saturday of every month. Free to attend and all ages and abilities welcome.
